Returning to The Masonic Temple in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan, GRiZ announced today his sixth annual GRiZMAS shows on December 13 and 14. Each night GRiZ will perform a unique set, with Friday fueling favorites from ‘10-’17 and Saturday showcasing his biggest stage production yet, The Imaginarium, plus sounds from his acclaimed sixth studio album, Ride Waves, his three-part Bangers EP series and some never before heard tunes. GRiZMAS has quickly become a holiday staple for fans all over the US who travel to Detroit for back-to-back shows and ‘12 Days’ of charitable events with GRiZ himself. Pre-sale tickets for both GRiZMAS shows at The Masonic Temple are available starting tomorrow at 12 PM ET using the password ‘grizmas’, HERE.
Since 2014, GRiZ’s ‘12 Days of GRiZMAS’ series has made an impactful difference across Detroit communities, raising over $100,000 in the last two years alone. In conjunction with each year of sold-out double headers, GRiZ fans and locals alike have come together to help fund music education, art programs and coding lessons across Detroit’s public schools. All proceeds benefit the nonprofit organization, Seven Mile. Alongside being honored by the city council with the “Spirit of Detroit” award, GRiZMAS has been praised by the likes of The Guardian who stated, “This accessible, utterly sincere community effort feels comforting, essential, even.”
This year has seen GRiZ perform around the world in support of his latest studio album, Ride Waves and a summer of three massive Bangers EP releases. Since debuting The Imaginarium - his most complex stage production yet - GRiZ has taken to iconic venues and festivals including Red Rocks Amphitheater, Chicago’s Navy Pier, Austin’s ACL, and forthcoming dates at SF’s Greek Theater and LA’s Palladium. Bringing his largest run of US shows to a close, GRiZMAS fans will experience two special sets that GRiZ has only showcased on select stops of the tour.
